The IEEE Computer Society Malaysia Chapter, together with the Centre of Research for Cyber Security & Network (CSNET), Universiti Malaya, is pleased to continue the 2026 IEEE Computer Society Malaysia Chapter Webinar Series & Professional Workshops with a practical session on operationalising AI for real productivity.
Session Details
- Title: From Grammar Checks to Autonomous Agents: Operationalising AI for Real Productivity
- Date: Wednesday, 29 July 2026
- Time: 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. (MYT)
- Format: Online webinar via Google Meet
Synopsis
Stop treating AI like a glorified thesaurus and start unlocking its true potential. This webinar explores the critical shift from basic AI assistance to Agentic AI: systems designed to independently execute multi-step workflows rather than merely answer simple questions.
In this session, participants will learn how to move beyond grammar checks, content polishing, and one-off chat prompts toward practical task delegation with autonomous AI systems. The session will break down how agentic workflows operate, what makes them useful in real organisational settings, and how professionals can operationalise AI to create measurable productivity gains in daily work.
Through practical examples and implementation-oriented discussion, the webinar will show how AI can support real workflows such as research preparation, document handling, task coordination, knowledge management, reporting, and decision support. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how to design, supervise, and safely integrate autonomous AI systems into their own professional routines.
Speaker
Dr Muhammad Faiz Bin Mohd Zaki, Director, Data and Information Management Centre, Universiti Malaya.
Moderator
Prof. Ts. Dr Nor Badrul Anuar Jumaat, Director, Centre of Research for Cyber Security and Network, Universiti Malaya.
Key Learning Objectives
Attendees will gain a practical understanding of how to:
- Recognise the shift to Agentic AI. Understand the difference between basic AI tools, prompt-based chatbots, and autonomous agents capable of executing multi-step workflows.
- Move beyond simple prompting. Learn how to progress from asking AI isolated questions to delegating structured tasks with clear goals, context, constraints, and expected outputs.
- Operationalise AI for daily work. Identify real productivity opportunities where AI agents can support recurring professional workflows, including documentation, coordination, research, and administrative processes.
- Design effective AI workflows. Explore practical strategies to break complex work into agent-friendly steps, assign roles, manage context, and evaluate outputs.
- Supervise AI safely and productively. Understand the importance of human oversight, verification, privacy, and responsible deployment when using autonomous AI systems in organisational environments.
